Montessori-family classes

 

Montessori family classes are an opportunity for children and their parents/caregivers to learn together in a Montessori prepared environment.

Parents and children interact alongside a Montessori trained guide who use the environment to facilitate the interaction.

The prepared environment allows the child to have a wide range of social and physical experiences.

Within the environment, and with the support of his caregivers, the child will become more confident and independent.

The first 3 years of life are of great importance. The young child is growing not only physically but also spiritually. He "works" to become a human being. It is the time in life where the foundation of the personality is formed.

From birth to 3 years old, the child absorbs from his environment. Then from 3 years old, he starts to order his mind and express his will. That's why the environment needs to be ordered, safe and beautiful.

In the "Montessori family" class, you will be presented to Montessori material and carefully chosen toys that allow your child to be an active and independent learner.

We will take time to observe your child, understand his/her needs and learn how to interact with him when he plays. The environment will nurture your child's need of independence, his sensibility to order, movement and language.

Then, we will share a group activity such as an art activity, food preparation and tasting, messy play... Here, the process is important not the end result. We don't do a piece of art, we enjoy a sensorial experience.

Finally, we end the group with songs, fingerplay and storytelling.

During the class, the parent will be a careful observer of his child.

All you learn during the class may then be transfer to your home environment. When becoming a Montessori-family customer, you will receive newsletters full of many ideas and information to keep you going at home.
